Intelligent Control, Panoramic Sensing | Midas Electric Participates in the 2023 IDCE Green Data Center Energy Conference
From June 14 to 16, 2023, the China (Shanghai) International Data Center Industry Exhibition and the 4th Green Data Center Energy Conference were successfully held in Shanghai. The conference, themed “Cross-Border Integration, Intelligent Future,” focused on cutting-edge technologies in the data center and energy sectors, bringing together industry professionals to explore future development trends.
As a manufacturer of high-power transfer systems and power control solutions, Midas Electric presented a range of independently developed products at the exhibition, including the integrated medium-voltage ATS, ME-iPOWER Load Management System, low-voltage bypass ATS, STS switching cabinets, and the Midas Insight Equipment Situational Awareness System.
With the rapid development of technologies such as cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G quantum communication, and big data, power supply systems in data centers have become increasingly complex. This complexity has significantly increased the difficulty and technical demands of equipment operation and maintenance (O&M). The data center industry now faces several key challenges:
How can precise maintenance be performed within limited downtime?
How can asset management of equipment be improved?
How can the ever-rising cost of equipment maintenance be addressed?
At this exhibition, ME introduced its new product — the Midas Insight Equipment Situational Awareness System — to provide innovative solutions for green data centers. This system is designed to meet the growing demand for intelligent and digitalized power equipment in the data center industry. With the situational awareness system, users can monitor the real-time health status of equipment, detect potential faults, and assess system performance. This allows for more efficient maintenance planning, optimized inspection cycles, and enhanced effectiveness in operations, testing, and servicing.
Other products showcased by ME at the event included:
MDS9MV Series Integrated Medium-Voltage ATS, featuring dual mechanical and electrical interlock mechanisms and intelligent control capabilities. The system supports step-by-step load transfer to ensure smooth switching between dual power sources, significantly reducing power outage time in data centers.
ME-iPOWER Intelligent Load Management System, an open, networked, modular, and configurable platform that integrates monitoring, control, communication, and maintenance. It provides real-time insights into the power operation status of data centers through comprehensive monitoring and multi-module data analysis, ensuring reliable operation and maintenance.
MDS9B Series Bypass ATS, designed for high-capacity power distribution systems and critical load applications. It features dual mechanical interlocks and supports live maintenance without power interruption, addressing the high reliability requirements of data center power supply systems.
PowerSwift Series STS, with a maximum rated current of 1600A, includes two bidirectional thyristor switches equipped with control and protection systems. The four-pole version also contains a neutral line circuit. Unlike traditional ATS, the STS switches loads at high speed, ensuring uninterrupted operation of critical loads.
As a high-tech enterprise specializing in intelligent power transfer solutions, Midas Electric has provided numerous data center projects across regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Anhui, Guizhou, and Hainan with products and power solutions, including the MDS9MV series medium-voltage ATS and the ME-iPOWER Load Management System.
Looking ahead, data infrastructure will continue to serve as a core driver of global economic and social development, with the construction of data centers playing a key role in this progress. ME remains committed to delivering a full range of power conversion solutions — from high voltage to low voltage, AC to DC, and dynamic to static — for critical infrastructure and industry users.
