Project Background:
Located in Shanghai, the economic center of China and an international metropolis, Hongqiao International Airport comprises Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The airport's power load is complex, including a large number of LED energy-saving lighting systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs) for pumps and fans, and the integration of photovoltaic (PV) renewable energy. Due to these types of loads, the power supply system may face power quality issues such as high harmonic distortion and low power factor. To address these challenges, thyristor switching technology was adopted to overcome the shortcomings of traditional capacitor-reactor groups switched by contactors, which suffer from slow response times and shortened lifespan under frequent switching.
